RebateGap

The tier you missed by $2,000 cost you $8,000.

RebateGap reads your purchase data and answers two questions your vendors never volunteer: how far is each one from its next rebate tier, and what has to be claimed before it expires.

A worked example
Tier position · Q3 close Sample data
Vendor YTD purchases Next tier Gap At stake
Vendor A · HVAC $412,320 $414,500 $2,180 $8,246
Vendor B · controls $186,940 $250,000 $63,060 $3,738
Vendor C · fasteners $97,410 $100,000 $2,590 $1,500
Vendor D · pipe $308,775 top tier
Vendor A clears the 8% tier with one more order. Miss it and the year settles at 6%. That number lives in the vendor's system, not yours, which is why it usually surfaces in January.
What it checks
What it is not

Not a niche analytics suite, not a pricing engine, not a six-figure implementation. You export purchases from your ERP, you upload the file, you get a list. Independent distributors in a buying group, roughly five to fifty people, are who this is built for. Everyone selling into that space right now either starts at $500 a month or requires a sales call before they will show you a price.

Who is behind it

I am Anton Tarasenko. I build software, and I am building this one alone. It is early: I am talking to controllers and purchasing managers before writing the rest of it, because the programs differ by vendor and I would rather see real ones than guess.

If you send a purchase export for two or three vendors, I will work out the tier gaps by hand and send them back. No charge, no pitch attached, and you keep the numbers whether or not anything comes of it.
